Eight years of it before I found anyone else who had it
Devin was told there was little to do about it. Loose clothing and an allergy pill help; finding other people with the same skin helped as much.

- Avoiding tight clothing and an allergy pill, plus finding other people with it
Hi all. I've had dermatographia for probably 8 years now. There is very little information about it on the internet and I'd never even thought about trying to find a group, so I'm glad I can finally talk with people who have the same condition.
I see a lot of people here have taken medication for it. When I went to a dermatologist they kind of told me it was normal and didn't prescribe me anything or really help me at all. They basically told me to try not to wear tight clothes and take an allergy pill. That was it.
I'm so tired of the itching, and all the negative, irritating things that come with this. I have no idea what my triggers are. I just know some days are worse than others, and it hasn't gone away in 8 years.
So I'm open to any information or advice anyone can give me. Mostly it just helps to know I'm not the only one being told this is "normal" while itching all day.
