What this site knows about you.

The quiz asks about your skin, so you deserve a straight answer about where those answers go. Short version: they are anonymous, they are pooled into public statistics, and there is no email capture and nothing sold to anyone.

What the quiz collects

When you finish the dermatographia quiz, one anonymous row is saved: the answers you selected, your severity score, your severity band, and your dominant symptom driver, along with the time you finished.

That row carries no name, no email address, no account, and no login — because there is no account system on this site and no email capture anywhere in the quiz. Nothing in that row can be traced back to you.

How that data is used

Two things. First, it builds your own results page — your score, your dominant driver, and your staged 30-day plan. Second, it is pooled with everyone else's answers into the aggregate numbers you see on The Dermatographia Index and in lines like “more severe than 45% of 184 people.”

Only aggregates are ever published. Individual responses are never displayed, listed, or shared, and there is no way for anyone — including me — to look up a single person's submission.

What is never collected

No email capture, anywhere on this site. No health information tied to your identity. No selling or sharing of data with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party marketers. No third-party advertising or retargeting pixels.

The contact form

The contact form is the one place personal information is collected, because you choose to give it. Your name, email address, reason for writing, and message are stored so I can read and reply to you.

That information is used for nothing else. It is never sold, never added to a mailing list, and never shared with a third party. If you would like your message and details deleted after we have finished the conversation, ask and I will remove them.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to count page views and see which articles people find useful. It records standard technical information such as pages visited, approximate location, referring site, and device type. It is not connected to your quiz answers.

You can opt out with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by using a browser or extension that blocks analytics.

Your browser's own storage

The quiz keeps your answers in your own browser so your results survive a refresh, and it remembers that you have already submitted a score so the same result is not counted twice. That data stays on your device. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.

Affiliate links

Some product links on this site are Amazon affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you buy through them at no additional cost to you. Following one takes you to Amazon, where Amazon's own privacy policy applies. A commission never determines whether a product is listed or how it is described.

Requesting removal, or asking anything else

Quiz submissions are anonymous, so there is no individual record to locate — but if you have sent me a message and want your details deleted, or you have a question about anything on this page, use the contact form and I will handle it personally.
